Understanding Your Nervous System, Healing Your Patterns and Reconnecting With Your Authentic Self.
Drawing on thirty years working with elite athletes, high-performers and everyday people, Andrew Zealand puts into words what he's learned about why the body holds what the mind can't always explain — and what it actually takes to come home to yourself.

I didn't start out trying to understand the nervous system. I started out trying to fix bodies.
Over more than three decades, treating pain, injury and performance issues took me into rooms most people never see the inside of — with Olympic athletes, World Championship competitors and high-performing business leaders. I watched incredibly capable people carry pain that no amount of skill or treatment alone could resolve.
That noticing sent me looking further, into breathwork, energy work and eventually into coaching people through the emotional and nervous-system patterns sitting beneath the physical ones. What I found, again and again, is that most of us are not broken. We are protected, by a nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do, often long after the original danger has passed.
The book is arranged in four parts, each building on the one before it — from understanding survival, through to freedom.
Understanding Survival
What your nervous system is doing, and why — including the fight, flight and freeze responses, and how survival mode becomes the default.
Understanding Your Story
Where your patterns actually came from — trauma, conditioning, and the beliefs absorbed long before you had the language to question them.
Awareness Changes Everything
The moment-to-moment noticing that makes change possible — triggers, turning inward, and learning to feel again.
From Awareness to Freedom
What becomes available once you can see yourself clearly — the authentic self, radical acceptance, radical responsibility, and freedom.
Plus a full Nervous System Reset Journey — ten practices to work through at your own pace — and a client's first-person account of her own year-long journey through this work.
That's the idea the whole book is built on — and it's the same idea Andrew brings into every coaching session.

Andrew has spent over thirty years helping people transform their health and their lives — beginning in remedial therapy, and eventually working with the Australian Diving Team at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, World Championship athletes, the Australian Cricket Academy, AFL players and public figures including Mick Jagger.
That work taught him that lasting transformation is never only physical. Today, Andrew works with clients in Norwood, Adelaide and online, blending nervous-system-informed coaching, somatic work and breathwork — this book grew directly out of the questions he's asked alongside hundreds of clients over three decades.
More about Andrew →Working with Andrew helped me see I'd been in survival mode for years. Instead of "how does that make you feel," he asked, "Where do you feel that?" It shifted me. It helped me reconnect with my nervous system and actually understand what was happening inside me. I didn't just get myself back. I found myself for the first time.
